The Sifter
A search for the meaning
the meaning of the mumble i hear
the chaotic jargon
that rings through my ear
Sifting through the remaining words
a waste of time it would create
the positive comments in my pocket
and in trash the ones of hate
The tone of the phrases i bunched together
give signs of hope and create my worry
i notice a pattern; overload on negative
and scramble them in a pitiful hurry
My mind is a whiteboard that's been scribbled on
I need
an eraser to clear the slate or
a new eisel; clean and white
fresh new paints on my palette plate.
I'll forget the past issues
i promise myself that statement will prove to be true
I'll hang tightly to the life preserver
this will be a hell of a rescue.
