A Ruby
The cherries, all smiling at me
Surround the sunlight happily.
They dance everywhere, wondering
If I shall join them
Or them again.
Some are occupied, saving their
Surely happy conversation-my new word-for a rounder day, still
Ask from all directions, giving to me
Only the red sunlight, and keeping
All the rest.
The colors stay within them, feeding
Their strong tender souls,
Making them sweet enough
To wander, and they ask again me
Once upon a time,
What color shall I bear?
