How Im Built
I’m from empowerment
receiving the love
and destroying the worlds wicked walls of hatred
Memories that can’t be replaced
helped build my foundation
Raised in NCC of Durham
from before birth
I’ve been apart of my church,
full of hope and faith
I embrace as my structure
Brought up by a single parent
my idea of superwoman
was my mother, the parent that
is here completely.
A mother, friend, care-giver and so much
more. Protects me just
like shelter
True Friendship help build me
the best laughs in time
of need.
Opening up for the love
slamming in front of your face when hatred is shared.
The door I need.
Family is all around
to lead, guide me through paths
protect me in my weakness.
Block me from the drama
inside them all is calm
like the four walls
Built me, kept me
always will protect me.
Everything that has been built
will grow in my heart and
around myself.
I’ve been impacted by the
people I love
and the feelings I never gave up on.
