Running Away
Running Away
is all she does.
Too scared and insecure
to stand and fight.
Running Away
is all she is.
Too shy and quiet
to speak her mind.
Running Away
is all she knows.
Too all-consuming and great
to hide from.
She hates it.
But it's all she knows,
all she does,
all she is.
When will she learn that,
Sometimes you need to stand and fight?
Sometimes you need to speak your mind.
There's no reason to run.
But she doesn't see that.
All she sees is the ground flying by
beneath her feet.
I want to help her,
to pity her.
But its so hard to,
when I can't understand.
Our worlds are separate.
I stand and fight.
She runs.
I speak my mind.
She runs.
I refuse to hide.
She runs.
I wish she could see
how great life can be when
you don't run.
If she could just stand still for two seconds,
she'd see. And she'd smile.
The pain would leave
and she'd finally
stand and fight.
She'd finally
speak her mind.
She'd finally
stop trying to hide.
I wish she could see
how great life can be when
you don't run.
If she could just stand still for two seconds,
she'd finally stop Running Away.
