Homo Sapiens
Maybe we’re not the purpose,
Maybe we’re not the reason.
Not the hero of all the species,
Or the kings of every being.
In every story alike, there’s a weak and there’s a strong,
And in every happy ending, it’s the villain who will fall.
So in a world of uncertainty and endings to go around,
Are we really who we think we are, or are we the ones who will hit the ground?
So here we stand on a crowded plank,
A lonesome journey into lower ranks.
Once the rulers, the superior minds,
We’ve fallen, fallen, ever so behind.
Savages in a civilized world,
It’s only a matter of time before into the darkness we’re hurled.
So speak up now, or forever hold your sanity,
We have succumbed to destruction from ignorance and vanity.
We used to be the leaders, the products of evolution,
What happened to the days, when we were the solution??It’s as if time is telling us, that wounds will mend and mend,
But you need to fall and learn, in order to rise again.
So maybe we’re not the saviors,
The hope or the model behaviors,
But maybe we should listen to other species,
And learn to love their own true genus.
