The sound of sadness
is a patch of pain,
a drenching of dreams
in a grotesque gray that dampens the delights of hopes
and makes them
dull,
drab
observations.
It is a thickening of thoughts,
a tick of the tides,
that distorts the splendid symphony
which makes the winds wild,
and the petals preen beneath
skies spattered bashful blue.
