Grandpa, You Left Too Soon
Grandpa, you left too soon.
You were too young to die.
Cancer was a horrible thing to befall you.
You were only sixty-eight years old.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
You were called up to heaven.
You now paint the angels in the sky.
You are now with the rest of our departed family.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Every day I think of you.
I wish I could have helped you.
I wish I were there for you.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
I never got to tell you that I love you one last time.
I never got to tell you how much you meant to me.
I never got to give you one last hug, kiss, and back rub.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
I never got to say goodbye.
You were a victim of bile duct cancer.
I know the treatments were painful to you.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
You have been dead these past two years.
You lived until the day after Mothers Day.
You gave Grandma one last gift, that she loves so much.
Grandpa, you left too soon.
Rest in peace, Grandpa. I will always love you. August 4, 1940 – May 11, 2009.
