Just Hangin' Round
Lying on the beach on the tropical island of Hawaii,
I see a 25 ft. tall palm tree with three
Coconuts just hanging there, the palm tree has long
Green palm fronds that were dancing
In the wind, the palm tree is right next to the ocean shore,
While I was lying on the beach I was listening
To the beautiful sound of the ocean,
And the palm fronds shaking
To the rhythm of the waves clashing,
And all that I felt was the rush of the wind
Slamming itself onto my body,
I was looking up at the palm tree and I noticed
That one of the coconuts were getting ready to
Jump off of the palm tree, so I hop up
Like a person pulvolting at a track meet
And run towards the tree
To catch the coconut that is about to jump,
When I got over there I waited and waited and waited
Then finally he jumps down right into my arms,
After I caught the coconut I ran home with it,
Grasping it with both hands so that he would
Not run away from me, finally home,
I show momma and she grabbed it from me,
And she said “wow you got a good one!”
And she held it in her right hand, she lifted it the air,
She slammed her arm down like an axe chopping up wood
hitting the coconuts rough skin against the counter,
Breaking it open,
I was jumping for joy because now I could eat the coconut!
But first momma poured the coconut milk into a
Tall clear glass and drank it,
And then she gave me the coconut and said “ENJOY!”
And I said “thank you momma I will”
As I was eating all that I could taste
Was the tropical and sweet flavor that you taste when you
Eat a coconut!
