Who You Are Today

The things you've been through,
But nobody ever knew,
The things you can't talk about,
The things you're afraid to tell,
Afraid people will look at you differently,
The things you couldn't change,
All of the emotional nights,
Fearing what would happen to you next,
The things you had no control over,
Made you who you are today.

I later learned after I wrote this that everything the guy told me was a lie. He said some pretty bad stuff happened to him, and it was just because he wanted attention! Makes me so mad!
