I Walked Away

I walked away, I turned my back
And never took the chance to look back
I lived my life for the next seven months
Until my first true tear fell from my face
And the news stuck out in my thoughts
It shaped the rest of my summer and on
Each day I lived my life
Each day I shed a tear
Each day I wish I had looked back
Each day I wish I hadn’t walked away
