Dark Tears
It’s a very dark night
With all the shutters closed
And all that can be heard
Is a howl in the distance
A small candle in the corner
Illuminates the room none
I’m left with my thoughts alone
In the dark and lonely night
The dark brings no comfort
A place where my tears can fall free
Where no one can see me defenseless
And I can cry myself to sleep
A whisper beckons from the shadows
A light flashes through the room
My heart yearns to run outside
And dance as the raindrops fall
But stuck I am in this room
With little light to see by
My vision fades to blurry
As the tears stain my page
