Viva La Vendetta
Tonight, I danced with the devil,
Behind the chemical sheds of this wretched place.
The stagnant air left me breathless
As the guards came,
Protecting the corruption
These politicians savor.
Their guns brought me no evil,
For I have reason to die,
This is my last performance,
And I shall tell you why.
You see; the world is an ugly beast,
When you look it in the eye.
Then heartbreak stains like
Bullet wounds, because God I have sinned,
And this place has done me wrong.
A curtain of illusion,
Draws up my imaginary stage.
If I must die, I’ll go in grace.
In love and hate, or fear and pain.
Tonight, I dance with the perils
That my followers will face.
And shed the scars these times have told,
For fear of God, and in blind faith.
I once was just a prisoner of a cause,
Now the cause has called to me.
And whispered in scarlet lies of beauty,
That never an eye can see.
My wrists are slit,
As they turn in the dance.
Over and over,
Just like we practiced in the battlefield.
My partner is Satan,
And breathes fire in my hair.
In lust and agony,
Over and over,
Until I can feel no more.
Finally, my finale of vindication,
Because my time here was well spent.
The curtain gets ready to close a veil,
Upon my battered face in tears of mercy.
The ashes settle on the floor,
All endings closing like a door.
I never walked on water,
Or learned what life was for.
All I have are reasons;
I know what I’m dying for.
