"So, to their own unutterable torment, they go about among their fellow-creatures, looking pure as new-fallen snow; while their hearts are all speckled and spotted with the iniquity of which they cannot rid themselves." -Nathaniel Hawthorne

Canyon walls reaching,
Birds screeching,
Sending their scattered call high
And soaring into the sky.

Wolves howl,
Sending up an eerie yowl!
Silent feet treading,
Prey dreading.

The wind swishes
And I wish
That I could stay forever
So that the image of this place would never sever.

An attachment to this place,
That lights up my face.
A spot held deep within my heart,
That will forever be a part.

Canyon walls reaching,
Birds screeching.
The wind will blow
And wherever I am I will know
That this place will forever be a part
Of my heart.
