Love Seemingly Evades Me

Love is in the air
but suddenly I can't breathe
seeking aimlessly
for something yet to come
lust as my only guidance
how easy it will be to get lost
for now, my heart beats alone
trying different rhythms
searching for its match
and even just the brief glimpse
of something I someday hope to be mine
restores my faith
and holds back my tears
