I drop my ten pound backpack
on the clothes covered floor.
I flop on my bed and stare into space.
Homework quickly fills my mind
as I try to stay awake.
I sit up and unzip my book holder,
pull out my books,
and start to work:
Twenty minutes in math,
thirty minutes in religion,
thirty minutes in American history,
thirty minutes in writing, and
forty minutes in science.
My hands cramp as I put my books away,
and I quickly fall asleep.
Two hours and thirty minutes worth of homework
plus thirty minutes of free reading.
Please, NO MORE!
