Sunset at the Beach
The sunset on the beach and the sparkle of the sun that glints on the water
The foam that floats along the waves and the soothing crash on the shore
The sand seeping through your toes and the birds flying above your head
The warmth of the beach and the shine of the sun that hangs low in the sky
The sky a mixture of pinks, purples, blues, and whites
And off in the distance the last lonesome sailboat riding atop the seas of innocence
With the sandcastles along the shore and the footprints imprinted on the coast
Each one a memory of the day, yet each one is washed away
The crabs that crawl through the sand and the seagulls that claw their way down the shoreline
All so peaceful all so graceful with the first twinkling star shining down on them
The dark night sky with the moon so bright it illuminates the waters and shows the calmness of the beach
The ocean and the waves, who knew the beach could bring such sweet serenities
The sun has set and disappeared beneath the waters and horizon
Not to return until sunrise
