My Detroit
With rival territories
And rival glories
This town has its very own story
The place where Eminem grew
Before he even know
That he was gonna reach fame
This city is far from tame
But its my town
It was there when no one else was around
Even after all the shootings and the beatings
After all the tears and the pleadings
Its still standing tall
It refuses to fall
Drugs rule over the streets
From all the kids that decided to rep to be free
This city is mine, this city is me
It watched me grow, it watched me live
It taught me how to be careful, and how to forgive
This is my city, this is MY Detroit
Im just gonna get straight to the point
So what if its not clean, Detroit lives in my heart
And I cry every time we fall apart
I will never forget my homies that fell a victim to or died in the streets
I will never forget the way they mourned to be free
But unfortunately,
they only made it harder on themselves
They fell a victim to drugs to "cure" their mental health
And they repped flags
They said its dangerous, but not that bad
This is my Detroit, I wont let you tear it down
Every night I kneel on the ground
And pray for a better town
