Different Worlds
Turn on the news each morning but nothing seems new
another bomb threat another murder we haven’t got a clue
Those people who seem so different living in poverty,
they lose their family and their homes, a loaf of bread is like winning the lottery
We go to school and complain all day about the work
and when the day is done we go home to a dinner of chicken or pork
They live on the same planet but it mind as well be a different world
all that keeps us together is a war where bombs are being hurled
We wake up to the sound of birds chirping or cars starting
another normal day where we never ask will a loved one be departing
but they wake up to a shaken ground or someone screaming
a world with food and peace they can’t even see when they are dreaming
