I Had Already Left You Behind
When your friends came over and you didn't want me around,
You left me behind.
When you went to art shows and to eat fancy food,
You didn’t invite me.
You would look at the night stars and moon and I would try to sit by you,
You would push me away.
Reading books and telling your great stories to everyone,
You forgot I was there.
I wanted to love you and tell you how I felt,
But you never showed up.
I bought you roses and a ring,
But you already had one.
You told me to love you and come be your mate,
But by then it had already been too late.
You told me I was the only love you could find,
I had then already left you behind.
