Without Her
I wept at the funeral
I cried for days after
And to this day nothing feels right
At Christmas Time the air seems empty
And no one mentions her name
We all glance at her pictures that surround us in each room
Whether we wish to admit it or not
And we all have had our dreams where she is still alive
And life feels so congested
As we try to live on in the small past we had with her
But it is impossible
She was a part of our hearts
And life will never be the same without her here with us
She deserved a long and healthy life
But she is gone forever
And she lives in our hearts now
And looks down on us from above
She watches as we progress through life
And sees how her death has impacted our lives
As we gather closer as a family
And we seem to be a bit closer than before
The love she left behind has pulled us all together
As we need each others strength to get through our journeys of life.
