It Was
It was when we
Held hands in line,
Lines to the bathroom,
The Libraries,
The Lunchroom,
The Playground.
Memories
Remembered of
Youth,
of
Controlled freedom
Freedom
We took for
Granted;
which
Took those
Freedoms,
To the bathroom,
Libraries,
Lunchroom,
And playground
faded
Too quick;
Too soon.
Turned them
Into something
Much more
Constructed.
A more
Intellectual
Way of being.
Days have since
Passed, come and
Gone. Without even
A whisper of,
Remorse for what
We had lost.
Summers come
And gone. Blistering heat.
Winters frozen
In time.
A(n)
Innocent
Place,
Love
Forgotten,
Lost
To us
Forever.
