If I Stay
If I stay
You will build me a city
On a foundation of bruises and scars
Windows of midnight laughter
A roof shingled with the beads of scarlet
Nails hammered in by your tumbling powerful words
And the will of your good strong merciless hands
For the city you shall forge a fine wall
With towering heights of whimpers and whispers and screams
To keep me safe
A city built by you
Just for me
If I stay
On the other hand
If I go
I can build a city all my own.
