charismatic young one
and we're walking down the street,
the rain hits, pitter-pat,
the synchronized eruptions on the ground
remind me of life's rhythm,
"beyond the memory, there is nothing"
and i remember running and falling
and i'm inspired to sing and dance
but shut up in a house of serpents
our fingers intertwined
the python's grip, cutting off the life at our wrists
i'd pick myself up, only to grab somebody else
so they could tumble with me
and we're ignoring the puddles
marching like proud children with candy
and it is so sweet, the sun shining through
and i really don't care to remember much else
of all the kids on the playground,
i'm glad i grabbed you
and i do apologize for the scraped knees
and for lack of a better way to say goodbye
i drowned in the sunlight
