lines
built to be better than we are
the daily failures are accepted traits.
like the politicians were raised to snort lies
and your boyfriend's just an a**hole
and every second ticking is a malicious reference to the seconds left to tock
on the way, stumbling heavily,
with one destination set, one kept in mind.
a head full of clarity, on top of two heavy shoulders
marching through a hallway full of people i don't care to talk to
there's something very dishonest about carrying bills
and the point of this venture is to escape to something real.
like a bird with an arrow through it's chest
fate, resolute; but determined, nevertheless
the sun is shining somewhere
