What is Love?
You asked me once
What is love?
Love is
A crackling fire shared with a stranger
A home cooked meal to a child working nine hours a day
Hands pressed against impenetrable glass
Fingers splayed identical, mirroring each other
Love is
A mother’s voice carrying on the wind
Reaching her son’s ears
Telling him it is time to come in and take a bath
Love is
Your hair glinting in the sun
Your skin, warm and supple
The softness of your lips
Lightly pressed
Against mine
