Best to Worse
Steps and steps ago
When little infants
Roamed the world
Dipping our color-filled popsicles
Into a giant column of water
When trudging up the great hill
With white dust falling from the sky
Felt like climbing up a mountain
When we made mysterious forts
With even more mysterious names
While drinking our hot coco
Trying to lick the chocolate off the bottom
Before there was stress
Crawling up your back
Or stalking you from behind
Before cell phones were “our lives”
Those were truly the times
When we just roamed and roamed
