Crying
Since when is it a sin to cry?
To weep is not to simply die-
it's a release of sorts that all should try.
A wail signifies birth- an infant's life,
it occurs in the face of sudden strife;
in too, the face of death, my tears are rife.
To be "mature" I surely dread-
when it's disapproving for tears to shed;
I'd have to hang my heavy head,
my heart weighed down with lead.
A single tear slips from my eye,
simultaneous with rain falling from the sky;
I see it's okay for God to cry-
so why is it a sin for I?
If I'm to bawl, don't call me weak,
My emotions are simply at their peak.
Sobs, sheer purity, streaming down my cheeks-
a voice for those who cannot speak.
