Summer MAG
I saw wings in your eyes
the day we blasted the music
as high as it would go,
but it still wasn't loud enough.
We wanted it to make our
heartbeats seem insignificant,
make our blood feel electric,
to freeze this moment into a single note.
But we had to be satisfied
with the limits of sound,
speakers blaring in our ears,
coloring our smiles soprano,
digging into our bones.
That was the day I found my feathers.
