“If I speak in the tongues of angels, but have not love, I'm only a resounding noise , If I have the gift of knowledge, And if my faith moves mountains high, But have not love I am nothing… Though I know the One, Who holds the stars in the heavens, In the palm of His hand, If I give all I possess , To the poor and the helpless, I'll still gain nothing, Without love… Love's patient, True love is always kind, Love does not envy, Never brags, it's never proud, Slow to wrath, it keeps no records of wrongs against friends, Love forgives… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-5,7)
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” John 15:18-19
"The world is not respectable; it is mortal, tormented, confused, deluded forever; but it is shot through with beauty, with love, with glints of courage and laughter; and in these the spirit blooms..." ~ George Santayana

One thing I've always wondered is..
What would it be like to die?
Would I have one last thought?
What would it be?
Would I get one last chance to tell everyone I love goodbye?
Who would be at my funeral?
Will I die a virgin?
Who will I leave behind?
Kids?
A husband?
A dog?
Who will actually miss me?
And who will only show up to save face?
What will people remember about me?
The good times? Or the bad?
I guess this is more than one thing to wonder...
but the first question encompasses the whole...
Love is Life and to lose it..
The most agonizing death.
Not just the love experienced in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship,
but the deep profound love of a friend you truly care about.
The love of understanding and being understood,
of seeing and being seen for who we really are.
There are those who are lucky enough to find these qualities in a relationship.
And some outside of a relationship...

I Love You best friend.
I will see you someday soon...
And I'll think of you everyday until I do.
Enjoy yourself in Heaven.
I can't wait to get there...

My good friend died in a car accident and I wrote this shortly after his death.. He was an amazing guy, always there for his friends, really upbeat and encouraging. I loved him as a best friend, as a brother, as a confidant when I had no where else to go. When he died... I felt like my world had come crashing down, but I started to realize he was in a better place than I am now. And one day I'll get there too. I can see him on that day in the future greeting me at heavens gate and laughing as he tells me, "I beat you here."
