Like a moth
Hovering
Gray in the darkness
Waiting
Creeping close
On gentle toes
Shadows creaking
Barely breathing
Poised for flight
With wings uplifted
Voices, murmurs
The door unyielding
Footsteps beating
Heart pounding
Silence forgotten
Fleeing

&ldquo; When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down &lsquo;happy&rsquo;. They told me I didn&rsquo;t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn&rsquo;t understand life.&rdquo; <br /> ― John Lennon

This is very good! You're imagery is amazing and even though it is a shortish poem I got wrapped up in it and felt like I was about to be caught eavesdropping! Great poem! And if you get a chance please check out some of my work. Thanks :)

&quot; In a world where billions believe their deity conceived a mortal child with a virgin human, it&#039;s stunning how little imagination most people display.&quot; --Chuck Palahnuik

Great imagery and word choice. :)
