November Rain
The sky is dull with hints of gray
Behind the clouds, the sun will stay
The chilly air bites the grass
A yellow color comes up fast
The bushes are left with only stems
No longer in need of summer trims
The trees are naked without their leaves
Stolen warmth from winter thieves
Little drops of secluded moisture
Fall from the heavens like the pearl of an oyster
They hit the Earth in a practiced fashion
So careful of landing, it seems like a passion
The foundation is cracked for months on end
So the gentle rain seems like a welcomed friend
Puddles form on the hardened ground
The freezing earth is left to drown
Now the gentle peace will remain
After the calming November Rain
