To The Stars
Silver star flickering brilliantly among the midnight sky, glide closer to me so I may touch you.
Why must you live so far away with your sister's and brother's?
Won't you join me on Earth where you will be appreciated?
But, up in the silent sky you rest.
I find myself reaching for you on my tip toes.
Hoping that if I touch you, my one wish will be granted.
Closing my eyes tight, I recite the line...
"Star light, star bright, first star I've seen tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight."
Opening my half lidded eyes, I look toward the darkened sky.
My wish has not come true.
Silver star flickering brilliantly among the midnight sky, why have you not granted my wish?
Up in the silent sky you still rest, glimmering, shimmering almost completely lighting the sky.
You're much more radiant now, what are you planning?
What do you have up your sparkling sleeve?
It's coming to me, it's coming to me!
Oh!
Silver star!
Have you come to grant my wish?
You're so much more radiant now, floating her, in front of me.
Won't you take my hand?
Won't you grant my wish?
Take me with you silver star, so I may give hope to the hopeful wishers, down-on-their-luck prayers.
May I join you in your midnight sky?
...
Silver star flickering brilliantly among the midnight sky, glide closer to me so I may touch you.
