Salt Upon An Open Wound
Within the darkness, laying on a ruby-stained bed
I watch my shattered heart beat slowly in my chest
Glistening like a star in the nighttime sky
A small tear runs down from my eyes
After my ordeal, you asked the unthinkable
To stay in your life only as your friend
Was like pouring salt onto an open wound
Do you even care about how I feel?
Foolishly, I thought things would return to normal
However my wound only grew more and more
Watching her flirt and eventually find another
Made me question why I am in her life
