I will love you for longer than we live
and more than sunsets bleed and bow before
the obsession of night
and I profess I do believe
that my mind will replay you for longer than
eternity can address, or lungs can breathe
my ears will replace city life realities
with the sound of your charming chime
patiently I pain away against the dual meaning
of your smiles
we are of the stars, whose only promise is to die
and dearest, death I conclude is heaven's harvest
so I will love you longer than our eyes remain
observant and wide
and the earth our bodies harden
