Left Alone
The cold, calm night
At Crater Lake.
4 girls share a cabin,
by a small pond.
“Fishing is what we’ll do!”
I leave to get my shoes.
When I arrive nobody is there.
All . . . A L O N E.
I search,
and search.
No one to be found.
Over the fence to the pond.
There lay three girls spread upon logs.
“Having fun yet?” I giggle.
A canoe I spot, so we get in it.
Somethings missing . . .
“How will we fish?”
We look,
and look.
But theres nothing to use,
Besides hangers.
“Lets have a competition!”
We use our skills to sit and wait.
But no fish were found.
Just a shiny, white, egg.
