The Perfect Poem

i tried to write you a perfect poem
i tried to prove love isn’t dead; to show ‘em
but nothing came to mind
i couldn’t seem to find
the perfect rhyme
that would echo throughout time
nothing i wrote was good enough
most lines sounded too tough
some were too weak
the rest were much too bleak
so i decided to right just this
three words of pure bliss
nothing new, something true;
I love you
