On Days Like These
When there's silence through my frames
Beating in my heart
And stillness in the rain
When something's dying
In perfect clarity
When there are monsters where I cannot see
Something is alive
When everything is drawn anew
And nothing is fading
When fairies flicker just beyond the border threads
When the road looks unrealistic
When motion is in still life
Something is alive
Something builds upon the dark soil
Something caves in
When everything is darker
I've never seen such vibrance
When time seems to play a key role
When there aren't things beyond me
Something is alive
When my eyes are itching to close
And tangling thoughts pull me from sleep
When I'm nervous down to the quick
When my bones form into lead
My thoughts fill up with dread
When there's a shining quality to dreams
Something is alive
When my throat is filled with drowning words
When light suffocates the air
When electricity bounds within me
When the atmosphere is enthralled in envy
And I'm up to my neck in me
