Broken Playground

Cracked toys litter the dirt
Of the broken playground;
And the rusted swings sway
In every small wind
Shattered glass accompanies
The chilling moans and cries
Of the merry-go-round
That cannot spin
Children have long gone
Toddlers come of age;
Leaving adolescence behind
And this playground forgotten
