Thanks for Being There
I see it as the way out,
The way to escape the pain,
The pain that drowns my existence.
Cold steel, forbidding glimmer,
Waiting for you to show you care.
It’s pressed against my skin,
I wait for you to knock it away.
A moment away from the bitter relief,
A moment left for you to save me.
You walk away.
Disappointment hits like a typhoon.
A sharp bite,
A quick breath,
Ruby drops beading their way along,
Gravity dragging them down.
But I care not,
Because you didn’t bother.
Broken promises crash around me like waves.
Thanks for being there.
