Leap of Faith

The question was never
would i jump
the question was always
would you be there to catch me
i spread my wings
when you were gone
and there was no chance
of you stopping me
and i took a leap of fate
two wings were perched between
my shoulder blades
i am up in the air
and looking down
i don’t know if my wings will work
i will either fly or fall
but as my eyes scan the floor
i see that there is no one coming
and if i fall
you wont be there to catch me
