Along the Line, We are Fine
Somewhere along the line, we all go crazy.
Whether with love, anguish or anger.
We all cross the path, teeter on the beam and fall.
We all have that chance to pull ourselves up,
To save our minds from the encroaching darkness,
That wriggles with worms of insanity,
Ready and waiting to creep into your soul.
Somewhere along the line, we all misstep.
As a misjudged distance, attention elsewhere or perfectly guided.
We all trip, stick our feet where they don’t belong and slip.
We all have the sinking feeling dragging us down,
Fighting against the white light making us floating towards the sky,
That birds soar among marshmallow puffed clouds of white and gray,
Gliding along the winds, ready for us to soar.
Somewhere along the line, we all see darkness.
We all fall from the light.
We all see the down side,
And feel the quench for the silver lining,
Because somewhere along the line,
We all have to see,
That the world is big,
We are small,
And it is all perfectly fine.
