From the Inside Out
I can cover up a zit
But I can’t cover up my heart
I look beautiful at first
Because that’s where the view stops
I could put on a white hat
Call myself a saint
But it would be just another lie added to the plate
I’ve been given everything I’ve ever wanted
But no one can give me this.
No one can take away a life of hurting, a life of wish
No one can turn back time, it’s all on me
One day I’ll be a better person, just wait and see
One day I won’t have to lie
I won’t have to try
It’ll all be inside
I’ll be beautiful without a doubt
Because I’ll be beautiful from the inside out
