The Big Island Amusement Park
i stand at the bottom of the steps
cracked from all the years of disuse
my eyes close, replacing the sounds
of whispering leaves
and distant laughter
with the sounds of the past
an amusement park
a distant memory, but i am so close
i imagine the smells
the people
the colors
the music,
i can see it all
my eyes open
the sun beats down on my back
i can almost feel the energy
but now the only things left
from a once remembered dream
is and abandoned moat
and some stairs,
cracked from disuse.
