Darkness is Cold

darkness is cold
it has no weakness
it has no empathy
darkness is always there
it sulks around and wraps
around your mind
it brings with it
uncanny thoughts
it drags in bitterness and pain
it comes quietly with a brisk chill
you don't notice it at first,
but it's there
you try to make it leave
but it's like a second skin
it's painful to take off, so
it just sits
it's apart of you
you think it's gone
but the truth is,
darkness never really goes away,
once you've seen it.
