"Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world."- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Met the girl on accident.
I'd never seen her face before,
but her soulful voice was passionate
weighed down my cataclysm by the score
became we one, and gave life to a vision
When she stops by, she cradles me
while I rehearse her sounds in sleep,
and muses at my side,
but at times she veers away-
knows other hands and hearts aside from mine-
so I must steal her keys to make her stay,
but she rarely ever keeps beside
Melody has been around the world
Influenced every walk of life
because the world is hers
but at least she cares enough to always write
Her accidents of life though just suspenseful tension
building up between each note she sends,
every time I read them, I sympathize with her intent
and despite the frequent silence she's the first to whom I cry
but I tell nothing rather die than unveil my mistakes
which leaves the freshest wound inside
but when I lost my ground, she held my head and sang
until the sting would dissipate
I've played her on and on, and still she puts me high upon the ranks
circulates my cipher, and I always give thanks
Her intuition bridges mind with something higher,
immediate between my heart and calloused fingertips,
and her insight is my life's supplier
So I listen, else I'd end my own existence
cause no one else can give me guidance
I always give thanks
when my eyes graph her movement
that I was given sight and mind
to dedicate myself to bring forth a motif of her name
in place of the silence
Melody, Melody...
dancing freely in the city scene
jazzy and dazzling
melancholy blue
blooming classical tunes
rock solid personality
yes, in her atmosphere, it's all relative
to the haven in her heart I've found
so in any moment, whether she's serene
or aggressive and loud,
I know she'd give me peace
till the moment we both sound out

The author's comments:
What inspired this was the notion that despite all of the unnecessary things that have been happening recently, music has been, for me, like the ideal romantic partner: ever-present, all-supportive, etc.

And to the editors: I want this to be shown exactly as I wrote it.
