Xenophile
I’m yearning for the sweet sensation
Of having something
Not yet had
I’m wishing hard and long
I’m waiting to be taken to new highs
I lust for a walk in the woods, blanketed in fallen leaves
And fall trees to line the blue skies
I pine for soft white sand, draining through my palm
With crashing ocean waves of clear quality
To look out on the horizon to see the sun sink beneath the quelling waters
I want for a soft sweater and good book
Flipping through the pages as I stare out at a snow capped
Landscape
I desire the springtime melody with all its restlessness
The freedom of energy released from winter’s clutches
I must stare upon a blossoming flower
Finding light after such dark an hour
I wish for four seasons at my command
And happiness its only reprimand
