Did I Make You Look? MAG
Do you know what I did for you tonight?
I sat for hours, curling my hair,
Making sure every little ringlet
Fell, twisting in a perfect spiral,
Bouncing in a perfect curl.
I wore lipstick for the first time,
Although I think I may have licked
All of it off by now.
I read how to do my make-up
Like famous actresses do,
So maybe I'd be able to impress you.
I saved my money for months
To buy this dress
Because I want you to notice me.
I spent the past week
Putting my feet through murder,
Learning how to walk in these heels
So I could dance in them …
Maybe with you?
I painted my nails,
Spending two whole hours,
Making sure each coat was perfect.
So that you'd see me
And you'd look twice.
