Escape
I’ve been captive here ever since
I can remember.
I am no longer the young innocent girl that I once was.
I’ve grown into a young woman.
No mother to teach me how to behave as one.
No father to protect me from the harms of the world.
I had them once…I think.
Before I was stolen.
I dream of the day that I will be reunited with them.
To feel the warmth and safety of my father’s arms around me or the loving touch and voice that is my mother.
I’ve roamed these caverns for many years, trying to find my escape and today…
I think I’ve found it.
