Molly my Doll
Momma’s hanging the washing,
Drying,drying on the clothesline,
Daddy’s busy in his room,
Typing long,long words.
Where’s Sis?I can’t see her,
Oh,there she is by the garden,
The trees are thirsty,
So she’s giving them water.
By the window sat Molly and me,
Playing together we are.
Molly always smiles at me,
And I like to braid her hair,
Molly smells nice doesn’t she?
I’ve sprayed her some of Momma’s perfume.
Today the dress she’s wearing is blue,
And she said she’d like to sit in the sun.
I sat her on the windowsill but,oh,
Where’s her hat?
As I went to find her hat,
Molly suddenly went outside,
She fell down,down,down.
Shocked was I and I ran to her side,
And there’s Molly smiling in the air,
So out I jumped and caught my dolly,
Momma and Sis,why are they screaming?
I was flying,I was,
It was fun so I laughed,
Ouch,it does hurt when I hit the ground,
I feel dizzy,Momma,I do,
I don’t think I can go to school,
Oh well,Momma can I stay in bed?
For tomorrow,just tomorrow,
I feel tired I want to sleep,
Don’t worry I won’t feel lonely,
Molly will stay right beside me.,
