A Green Life
Behind most shades lie colored eyes
Behind their eyes are dollar signs
Laughing, chatting, hide those secrets
Keep mouths paid shut and people clueless
His tie is encrusted with diamonds
Her purse is filled to the rim with bills
His conscience heavy with guilt and lies
Her bed is empty no one hears her cries
A lifestyle so near I can taste it
Like caviar on a fat free cracker
The hold their heads high day after day
I’ll do my best to keep away
